Tigers move into the race

The district race is tightening up for the Tigers as they took two more well-earned victories to make the move as the first round is being completed. First the Tigers outlasted the slugfest with Lehman and it took extra innings to come back for the 6-5 win over Seguin.

Lady Tigers surge to the district lead

The Lady Tigers faced three district opponents and after the results had held their own and took a one-game lead over Canyon. A 2-1 loss to Kerrville Tivy seemed to put DS behind the eight ball. It was their second loss. They took care of business by downing Hays Johnson 9-4. Now they would face Canyon, who also had two losses. This meant the winner would take the lead. Canyon started fast but faltered as the Lady Tigers took the win 8-3.

Final tune up for track teams

The track season seems to have only begun and yet it already is in its final stages. The four DS track teams participated in the final invitational track meet before starting on the meaningful cycle leading to the state meet in May. They competed with five other schools in the New Braunfels Unicorn Relays. The Tigers varsity won the meet in a close battle with three other schools. The Lady Tigers had a good battle for second before finishing third. Both 400 relay teams set new school records. The JV results will be in the next issue. The district meet will be held at New Braunfels Canyon on April 12,13.

Drip Lacrosse to host State Playoffs
Drip Lacrosse to host State Playoffs

Dripping Springs has been chosen as the host site for the 2022 Texas High School Lacrosse League State Championships the weekend of May 7th and 8th. Games will be held, both at DSHS and DSMS and will feature the Class AA, A and B Final Four, along with the Class C and D finals. In total, 16 teams will travel to Dripping Springs to play for a Championship. This will be an opportunity for Dripping Springs to show all that it has to offer.

Dripping Springs two soccer teams showed their rankings in the state are well-deserved as they made it through the early rounds of the playoffs. They took one-sided victories that vaulted them to the regional playoffs to be played at the Cabaniss Athletic Complex in Corpus Christi on Friday and Saturday. One step from the state tourney.
