The Dripping Springs Community Library received over $20,000 this spring after The Friends of the DSCL presented the nonprofit organization with its annual donation.

The Friends of the Dripping Springs Community Library held its annual membership meeting on Thursday, March 24, at the Dripping Springs Community Library. The mission of the Friends is to promote the library’s value, encourage its use, and support the library by contributing additional funds toward a variety of programs. This year, those funds totaled $22,000 — $17,500 to supplement the library’s budget for various programs and services and $4,500 to be saved for the construction of a new, bigger library in the future.

The guest speaker for the evening was Robert Musgrove, President of the Dripping Springs Community Foundation. He elaborated on the purpose of the Community Foundation, which is “to connect people who care with causes that matter.”

The Friends also paid gratitude to three board members rotating off the board, Teresa Carbajal Ravet, Peter Durkin and Cindy Heath, thanking them for their service and appreciating their membership. In their place, the Friends welcomed three new board members: Arvind Amin, Brian Hale and Gogi Hale.
