Ice storm wreaks havoc in much of state

Large parts of Central Texas experienced significant ice accumulation — leading to multiple governmental agencies making disaster declarations — after a winter storm blew through the Hill Country last week.

Nine Dripping Springs High School senior student- athletes signed National Letters of Intent on Monday, Feb. 6 to continue their athletic and academic careers at the collegiate level. A total of 24 students from the Class of 2023 have now signed NLIs.

Dripping Springs High School boys basketball hosted Westlake High School in the second round of district play, and it did not end up much different than the first.

Anytime the season is nearing an end and goals have not been met, it can be hard for teams to continue playing hard to the very end. Based on recent performance, this is not the case with the Dripping Springs High School girls basketball team — a testament to the quality of its players and coaching staff.

Dripping Springs High School qualified two additional Health Science students for the Texas HOSA State Leadership Conference at the Area 1 competition on Saturday, Jan. 21 at Seguin High School.

Dripping Springs ISD will hold a “State of the District” presentation for parents and community members next week.
