Once again, Dripping Springs High School proves its athletic programs have what it takes to compete in 6A — and even more so, the always tough 26-6A district that include Lake Travis and Westlake High Schools.

The Dripping Springs High School girls basketball season was completed last week, and the final results of the boys regular season finished last Tuesday.

In the Nov. 8 general election last year, Dripping Springs ISD voters did not approve any of the propositions included in the 2022 bond referendum. Now, a version of that same bond may be back up for election.

Large parts of Central Texas remain under disaster declaration after a winter storm, referred to as Winter Storm Mara, blew through earlier this month.

The Dripping Springs High School speech and debate team qualified a school-record 19 students for the Texas Forensic Association State Tournament after completing their competition season in early February.

Fourteen Dripping Springs High School swimmers qualified for the Region VII-6A Championship after their performances at the District 26-6A Meet on Friday, Jan. 27 at the Round Rock ISD Aquatic Center.

Dripping Springs High School Lacrosse opens their regular season this week with a couple of home games against Round Rock High School and against TMI Episcopal.

The Hays County Commissioners Court issued three proclamations during its meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 31.

Kent and Karen Killough are found standing with the ponies. It’s a Sunday afternoon, and they are celebrating their youngest child’s birthday. A cream-colored horse with a mane dyed in rainbow colors develops a line fifteen kids deep. There are giggles and laughter from around the property, including a nearby playscape where a small group are playing tag.

The Dripping Springs Women’s Club will host Pct. 4 Deputy Constable David Graham at its upcoming luncheon to discuss personal safety.
