After a three-year hiatus due to COVID-19 and logistical hurdles, The Friends Foundation in Dripping Springs is once more holding its Online Auction and BBQ Fundraiser.

The mission of Hays CISD, an innovative community of learners that values the diversity and legacy of the people, is to nurture students to become extraordinary citizens through unique, personal educational experiences. The overall vision is to grow an innovative community of learners.

The Dripping Springs City Council voted to set the proposed ad valorem tax rate for the 2023—2024 fiscal year, adopting a proposed rate of $0.2098 per $100 valuation.

Hill Country citizens remember the late January- early February ice storm earlier this year that coated trees with up to three-quarters of an inch of ice, paralyzed roads, pulled down power lines and left many people in the cold and dark for three days. The number of power outages in the Hill Country alone surpassed 200,000 households, and, in Texas, almost half a million people lost power. It was the worst ice storm in nearly a decade.

Members of law enforcement, firefighting and emergency management staff recently participated in specialized public disaster preparedness training, with a focus on freight and passenger railroad safety and investigation in Texas.
