The Texas economy is expected to continue its expansion, even in the face of market volatility, according to retired Assistant Vice President & Senior Economist of the Federal Reserve Keith Phillips.

The last week of play for the Lady Tigers basketball team proved they could take care of business against those teams at their level, but the upper level teams seemed to be a notch above.

The Tigers basketball team has stumped their toe with four straight losses to give them a 5-7 record. With four games left, they find themselves two games down to Bowie for fourth place. They began the week with a tough 74-68 loss to Hays’ Johnson High School, but the killer was the 53-52 loss to Austin’s Akins High School.

Dripping Springs High School qualified 33 DECA students for the State Career Development Conference after students competed at the District 5 contest on Tuesday, Jan. 9 at the Kalahari Resort in Round Rock.

Dripping Springs ISD is seeking feedback from stakeholders on the design of the district’s second high school with a community input survey that is open to the public. All parents, students, staff, and community members are encouraged to complete the online survey by Friday, Feb. 23.

A new commercial development on Fitzhugh Road continues to attract the focus of Dripping Springs residents and activists due to concerns the project could affect local waterways.

Some in the public raised concerns regarding the inaccuracy of the initial property tax statements that were posted online before the paper statements were available. The amounts posted originally were higher than the final amount.

It was the best of chances to gain a rare win for the Lady Tigers, but the Dripping Springs High School team could not match the good points of their previous games and fell to Johnson High School 40-34.
