The Texas Health and Human Services Commission is again extending emergency food benefits this month, with more than $307 million in emergency allocations expected to help more than 1.5 million Texas households.

It’s thanks in part to a San Marcos company — Berry Aviation — who partnered with a group of military and special operations veterans known as Project DYNAMO. The two have been working behind the scenes to help rescue those stranded since the Aug. 31 evacuation of U.S. troops.
