The long-awaited ice skating rink at Dripping Springs Ranch Park and Event Center opened to the public last weekend as part of the city’s first-annual Western Wonderland.

At its November meeting, DS VFW Post 2933 presented its Teacher of the Year Award to DSHS history teacher Angela Tennison, as well as awards to student winners of the Voice of Democracy and Patriot’s Pen essay contest winners.

The Pound House Farmstead and Museum has invited families and friends of all ages to come enjoy an oldfashioned Christmas celebration this weekend at its Homespun Holiday event.

Christmas officially kicked off in Dripping Springs with the city’s annual tree lighting ceremony on Friday, Dec. 1 at dusk.

The Dripping Springs High School Tiger Band participated in the Texas Music Educators Association Region 18 auditions last weekend at Akins High School. A total of 52 students were selected to the region and district bands and 21 advanced to the Area E auditions.
