The Wednesday following the last regular season game, the district coaches meet and select the All-District honorees. Dripping Springs, a close second to Westlake, had a good representation in the selections. Below are the Tigers that earned the honors for the 2022 season, from a team that went 12-2 and made it to the regional finals in the playoffs.

Faith Wylie, a graduating senior and soccer player at Dripping Springs High School, competed in the XXIV Summer Deaflympic Games earlier this month.

The Tigers were all hugs and smiles after winning at the UIL 5A State Soccer Semifinals. But after another hard-fought game, the team fell short of the state title less than two days later.

The Dripping Springs High School volleyball team captured their third UIL State Championship in program history on Saturday with a 3-0 victory over Katy’s Tompkins High School in the UIL 6-A title match at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland.

Each sport usually names students that participate in their sport and maintains a standard of UIL academic performance while also training hard for the sport. It is an important honor to bestow on these studentathletes and shows that both can be excelled in.

Just before District 266A boys basketball began, I checked with Dripping Springs High School basketball coach Craig Swannack to see who were the top teams in the district. To my surprise, he said the district this year is strong from top to bottom.

The Dripping Springs High School swim team competed in the big South Zone TISCA Championships recently, managing some successful swim results against their competition.

It will be imperative for the Dripping Springs High School Lady Tigers to win the games they are expected to win if they hope to stay in the race for a playoff berth.

After a fast start on the season, the Dripping Springs High School Tigers have cooled off in the last seven.

The Dripping Springs High School girls’ basketball team opened their district play with the Austin High School Lady Maroons, one of the top teams in the area.

The Dripping Springs Middle School Lady Tigers basketball teams opened their season on a high note as they took all four games with Lake Travis Middle School. The eighth grade A team took charge 29-12, while the B team won 17-7; the seventh grade A team won 25-8, while the seventh grade B team eked by with 20-18.

The football game between the Dripping Springs High School Tigers and the Vandegrift High School Vipers started the season with a match-up full of suspense — one which was ultimately decided by a field goal as time expired. So, the rematch between the Tigers and Vipers was a much anticipated quarterfinal game in the playoffs.
