It was only a matter of time for the Lady Tigers to break into the win column in district play. They hosted Austin Akins with high hopes. Both teams struggled in the first half with scoring. Many shots were put up but few were finding net. The first four minutes went by before Gracie Embry would get a basket. Two late baskets by Rain Collins would give Dripping Springs a slim 7-6 lead after one. The second quarter was much the same. It was 13-12 at the half.
When your accuracy is not going well, you can still only score if you shoot. The Lady Tigers continued to put the ball up and Collins would start finding the range from the three. Dripping Springs would extend their lead to 27-18 after three and finish with a 45-24 victory.
Westlake was another story. They are one of the top teams in the area anc id state. It was tough sledding for the Lady Tigers. The Lady Chaps took charge early and led after one 20-9. At the half Westlake had a commanding 32-15 lead. The second half was even slimmer as Westlake outscored the Lady Tigers 18-3 and 18-5 for a final 68-23.
