Dos Olivos Market opened in Dripping Springs last week, celebrating with a ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by the Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce.

The ribbon cutting took place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 16. It was followed by a grand opening event with live music, vendor tables and a number of food and drink samples. This is the fourth location for the Texas marketplace — with existing locations in Wimberley, Buda and Harlingen.

Rafael and Rebecca Varela, a father and daughter team, created Los Olivos Market in June of 2018. The name was inspired by the name of their family ranch, named after Rebecca's grandfather who was gifted two olive trees.

As the business grew and expanded with its Harlingen and Dripping Springs locations, the market decided to take on the name “Dos Olivos” as a nod to the two olive trees and as a signifier of new beginnings for both the Varelas and the brand. The Dos Olivos name will be in full effect for all four locations by the end of this month.

“We’ve had our family’s ranch in Dripping Springs since 2008, so this has been home for a while,” said Rebecca. “We’ve always wanted to bring Dos Olivos Market to the area. We’re excited to finally be here and offer something unique and fun to the community!

Dos Olivos’s mission is to be an original marketplace, where visitors encounter a curated experience combining old world tradition and Texas charm. The market connects top producers of quality wines, beers and gourmet foods with customers searching for unique and authentic experiences, providing a selection of high-quality food and drinks.

All of the Dos Olivos restaurants are market service, so no reservations are required. Each dish is made fresh and from scratch.

The new location will offer many of the same events and activities as other Dos Olivos locations, in addition to new and different options. These will include happy hours, live music and allday Sunday brunches.

“Whether you’re looking for a date night spot, a place to hangout with friends, or you just want to enjoy a nice glass of wine, we have something for everyone!” said Kayla Lavender, senior account executive with Resplendent Hospitality and spokesperson for Dos Olivos.

Dos Olivos Market in Dripping Springs is located at The Shops at Ledgestone. It is open seven days a week: Sunday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
