The city of Dripping Springs recognized over a dozen of its outgoing volunteers earlier this month, acknowledging them for years of service on city boards, committees and commissions.

The city of Dripping Springs recognized over a dozen of its outgoing volunteers earlier this month, acknowledging them for years of service on city boards, committees and commissions.

The recognition came at a regular meeting of the Dripping Springs City Council on Tuesday, Sept. 6. Recipients included Council Member Wade King, Place 2, for his eight years on the Parks and Recreation Commission. While he will no longer volunteer on the commission, he will continue to serve the city through his elected office.

Recipients with over five years of service also included Jim Martin, the former vice chair of the Planning and Zoning Commission (11 years); Patrick Rose, member of the Economic Development Committee (11 years); Eric Russell, former chair of the Parks and Recreation Commission (10 years); Eric Henline, member of the Parks and Recreation Commission (9 years); John McIntosh, original member of TIRZ No. 1 and No. 2 Board, Jim Martin, former interim chair of the Transportation Committee; and Kay Allen, member of the Emergency Management Commission.
