On Friday, Dec. 8, the Dripping Springs community gathered at the Joseph and Sarah Pound House site to celebrate the grand reopening of the House and in recognition of the Pound House Farmstead and Museum’s 20-year anniversary. The celebration marked the museum’s official reopening after being closed for three years due to COVID- 19 and needed restorations.

Those present at the ribbon cutting had a hand in either the early vision of creating the museum or in making sure that the Pound House Farmstead remains a place for the use, education, and benefit of present and future generations in our growing city. In attendance were volunteers, supporters, current and former trustees, Dripping Springs and Hays County officials, Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce officials and representatives of the Sarah Pound Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Hays County Commissioner Walt Smith was also on hand to share a proclamation from the Hays County Commissioners Court commemorating the 20th Anniversary.

The Pound House Farmstead and Museum is located at 419-B Founders Park Road and is open on Wednesdays (3 to 6 p.m.) and Saturdays (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.). The museum is also open by appointment and can be arranged by emailing info@phfmuseum. org or by calling (512) 858-2030. More information regarding the museum can be found at: phfmuseum.org.
