POUND PIONEER CHRISTMAS 2018
The farm house was decorated up 19th century style, with a band on the front porch playing early American tunes to put you in the spirit.Slogging through the mud, (it really wasn’t too bad) there were great activities to be a part of, such as making metal pieces into jewelry, horseshoes with the blacksmith, or creating Christmas ornaments that attendees took home to hang on their own tree. There were also horse drawn wagon rides, historic re-enactments and demonstrations, and for parents, shopping with local artisans. Although brisk, there were firepits around to keep visitors warm. It was a great way to look back on how Christmas was celebrated in the past.
