The Founders Day Festival will return once more later this spring, celebrating Dripping Springs’ heritage and pioneer spirit.
This will be the 34th year for the annual festival. Dripping Springs’ biggest community event, the three-day celebration is hosted by the city and its Founders Day Commission, which includes representatives of various community organizations.
The Founders Day Festival will officially kick off with the Grand Parade on Friday, April 28, and conclude late in the afternoon on Sunday, April 30. The celebration will include free music and entertainment, the Mighty Thomas Carnival, food, beer, street dances and cookoff competitions — as well as over 150 arts and crafts booths and business vendors. A community church service will also be held on Sunday morning.
Proceeds from the festival are donated back into the community and directly benefit local nonprofit organizations, churches, school and park programs, youth groups and charities.
The Founders Day Festival honors and celebrates the founding of the Dripping Springs community in 1850 by the Moss, Wallace and Pound families. According to its website, the three-day jubilee promotes cooperation and volunteerism in the community and generates community spirit and recreation.
