DSHS orchestra students qualify for State

Three Dripping Springs High School students have qualified for the UIL Orchestra State Solo and Ensemble Contest.

Three Dripping Springs High School students have qualified for the UIL Orchestra State Solo and Ensemble Contest.

The students qualified based on their performances at the UIL Region 18 competition on Saturday, Jan. 29, at Akins High School in Austin. Seniors Lucy Elizarraras, Sophia Fisher and Kayla Stradling received Superior Ratings and advanced to the state contest on violin. Freshman Corbin Meyer (violin) and sophomore Kira Granberry (viola) also received Superior Ratings.

The state competition will be held in May in Austin. A date has yet to be determined.
