Dripping Springs leaders set 2023 resolutions

It’s another year in Dripping Springs, and community leaders across the area are looking forward to further growth and development in 2023 — both personally and professionally.

It’s another year in Dripping Springs, and community leaders across the area are looking forward to further growth and development in 2023 — both personally and professionally.

Dripping Springs itself continues to grow with over 40,000 people residing within its city limits and extraterritorial jurisdiction, according to Dripping Springs Mayor Bill Foulds, Jr. In addition to a growing population, the area is seeing an influx of new businesses and franchises, including, this year, Panda Express and P. Terry’s.

“We have so many new entrepreneurs in the area who are ready to step out and start new experiences, and existing business owners are ready to make some changes, so it’s easy to predict that 2023 will be exciting for our area,” said Pam Owens, president and CEO of the Dripping Springs Visitors Bureau. “Destination Dripping Springs (the marketing arm of the Visitors Bureau) will continue to expand the Dripping Springs brand far and wide.”

With the city experiencing such significant growth, local leadership is placing an even bigger focus on “shopping local,” supporting local businesses and organizations.

“For the city, my primary resolution [for 2023] is to ‘Support and encourage everyone to spend time in all of our local businesses both big and small,”’ Mayor Foulds said. “Personally, [my primary resolution is to] spend more time with family and friends.”

“I plan to focus on quality over quantity — personally and professionally,” added Susan Kimball, president of the Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce. “More isn’t always better.”

Owens said her personal resolutions were most easily summed up in a word.

“I’m not very good at resolutions, so instead, I like to choose a word for the year,” Owens explained. “I’ve been thinking on this for several weeks, and the word that keeps coming back to me is choices, so I’m embracing choices and seeing where they lead me.”
