Dripping Springs hosted its annual wedding showcase this past weekend allowing wedding parties of all shapes and sizes to discover the Wedding Capital of Texas®.

The city of Dripping Springs was officially designated as the wedding capital of Texas by the state legislature in 2015 for its large number of weddings and wedding venues. With 36 wedding venues in a 17-mile radius, the area hosts over 4,000 weddings annually, according to Sherrie Parks, former executive director of the Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce. Its Wedding Capital of Texas® Showcase on Saturday, Jan. 30, presented a twist on the traditional bridal extravaganza.

The free event kicked off at Dripping Springs Distilling’s Distillers Hall with a vendor fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The vendors included many of the wedding basics: photographers and videographers, florists, caterers, venues and more. The event also featured a number of unique finds, including a harpist, vintage cars, and a mobile bar in the form of a Volkswagen van.

Attendees were given a gift bag with a Dripping Springs and Driftwood Visitor’s Guide, courtesy of the Dripping Springs Visitors Bureau. The bag also included vouchers for free drinks at Dripping Springs Distilling’s Distillers Bar, a tasting room, craft cocktail and wine bar and southern bites kitchen.

At noon, the second component of the event commenced off-site with a number of open tours around the Dripping Springs area. Wedding parties were able to visit venues and lodging properties, with no appointments needed.
