The window to file an application to be a Dripping Springs Independent School District Board of Trustees candidate for the May 2022 election has opened.
Two seats will be up for re-election this year — those currently held by Joanna Day and Marisa Grijalva. Filing began Wednesday, Jan. 19 and ends at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18. An informational "Candidates Academy" will be held Thursday, Feb. 3 at 510 W. Mercer St. in Dripping Springs, where Superintendent Dr. Holly Morris-Kuentz will discuss the responsibilities of board members and answer questions.

Board of Trustee candidates in Texas must be United States citizens, 18 years of age or older, not mentally incapacitated, not convicted of any felony and a resident and registered voter of the district. DSISD trustees do not represent "places," but are at-large representatives.
