The Hays County Local Health Department will host a Back-To-School Fair on Monday, Aug. 15.

The Hays County Local Health Department will host a Back-To-School Fair on Monday, Aug. 15.

In addition to vaccinations for school-age children who are uninsured or underinsured, the fair also features face painting, balloon animals and free games. All children’s immunizations will be available. The event will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“Vaccinations are an essential part of preparing to send your kids back to school,” said Clinic Manager Margie Rodriguez. “Throughout the rest of that week, we will also be offering free back-toschool vaccinations for uninsured and underinsured children 18 years and younger at the health department.”

Those vaccinations will be available from 8 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m., August 15 to 19.

The HCLHD also plans to hold a Fall Family Health Fair in October to provide wellness checks, health screenings and vaccinations to the public. This event will be for people of all ages.

The HCLHD is located at 401 A Broadway St. in San Marcos.
