The two state-ranked Dripping Springs soccer teams continue to dominate their opposition and give indication they will have to be dealt with again this season. In the world of soccer, scores usually are hard to come by. If teams score more than twice it usually means that team is really good or they are playing much weaker teams. We choose very good. Hat tricks (scoring three or more goals in a game) by players are becoming common. Each of the two teams won their respective tourneys with ease, including their district openers with Hays Johnson. As per usual, soccer teams have to endure the inclement weather as much as their opponents.
The Lady Tigers traveled to Katy, Texas for their tourney. They opened with a 7-1 thumping of Spring Woods. They followed this with a 7-0 shutout of Fort Bend Elkins and finished with a 3-0 win over Katy. District opener Hays Johnson was the next to feel the brunt of the Lady Tigers strength and ability as they fell 5-0. Ellie Hodsden collected her third hat trick.

The Tigers hosted their own tourney and proved to be poor hosts as they shutout all three opponents. They opened with a 2-0 victory over Princeton with good weather. The Tigers managed three goals in the first half and made it hold up against Fredericksburg. The final day found a windy, raw day but it did not stop the Tigers from having their way with Victoria East. They would have another three-goal first half in a 4-0 win.

Hays Johnson felt the brunt of the Tigers record setting 11-1 night. The eleven goals tied the record for most goals, while Adam Knutson's six goals broke the record for most goals in a game. In talking with Coach Josh Hill he spoke highly of Knutson by saying “Adam is a special player and had an amazing performance”. The Tigers now own a 6-2 record.
