A burglary took place this week near Creek Road and U.S. Highway 290. Both of the suspects have been identified as juveniles, according to the Hays County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident took place at Dripping Springs Grocery on July 18 at approximately 3:30 a.m. Almost twelve hours later, the Hays County Sheriff’s Office posted on its Facebook page in an attempt to identify the suspects, including photos of the individuals captured on video. The Sheriff’s Office stated on Facebook at 5:24 p.m. that it had identified both individuals as juveniles and, as such, would not be releasing any names of those involved.
The two suspects, both appearing to be pubescent or adolescent boys, were described by the Sheriff’s Office in its initial post.
“One of the subjects appears to be wearing a Dripping Springs Tigers sweatshirt and a beanie hat,” the post stated. “The other is dressed in a light blue t-shirt and blue jeans.”
The Sheriff’s Office, in its second post, credited citizen response for the swift identification of its suspects in this case.
“Sheriff Gary Cutler and the Hays County Sheriff’s Office truly appreciates every citizen who called and provided information pertaining to this case,” the second post read. “The amazing partnership between the Sheriff’s Office and the residents of Hays County is second to none, which is vital in solving cases such as this one.”
