It’s not everyday you can call yourself a national champion but here in Dripping Springs, four local volleyball players will have that distinct honor.

Sadie Bradford, Avery King, Asarya Rupp and Kate Wilkinson, all from Dripping Springs, stood tall on the podium to accept their gold medals as their team, Austin Performance 12 Adidas, captured the USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championship in Indianapolis, Indiana in late June.

Competing against 64 other teams from across the nation, AP 12 Adidas put together a dominant performance across four going undefeated in pool play with a 7-0 record before advancing to the Gold Bracket.

From there, AP 12 won their next three games to advance to the championship game where they took on Wave 12 Volleyball Club from San Diego, California.

It was a thrilling game which saw AP 12 knock off Wave 12 in two sets, winning the first set 25- 23 before taking the second set in a thrilling 29-27 win.

For Bradford, King, Rupp, and Wilkenson, it is a very proud accomplishment that all four girls should be proud of and cherish for a long time.
