Nearly 50 activities are scheduled to kick off the 2022 Spring Events hosted by the Wimberley Community Civic Club on January 20 including some events in Dripping Springs.

Activities spanning February to May begin February 5 with a course on CPR taught by Cathy Montgomery of the Wimberley EMS. Spring Event highlights include day trips led by Cynthia Marion of Travelphile tours to three destinations: San Antonio, Fredericksburg, and Schulenberg. A Talk of the Town Sweetheart Dance on February 12 features Al Dressen and his Super Swing Revue at the Wimberley Community Center. March blows in with two big events. The ever-popular Trivia Night gets underway March 4 at the Messina Inn in Wimberley. The duo, “Women with Standards” of Chick Morgan and Nancy Williams, will perform March 6 at Vintage Oaks Farm in Dripping Springs. In April, the Civic Club’s 2nd Annual Golf Tournament kicks off on the 4th with a four-person scramble at the Quicksand Golf Course in Woodcreek.

“We hope we’ve offered a wide variety of affordable events that appeal to many,” says Spring Events Chair Robin Estepp, who with co-chair, Becky Williams, worked diligently to bring in presenters and round up details. “Not only do we thank our Civic Club members for sharing their talents and skills to host these events, we also appreciate eighteen community presenters who jumped on the bandwagon with us.”

Rounding out the impressive list are small group, chef-inspired dinners and luncheons; cooking and gardening classes; courses on rocks, birds and backyard fowl; game instruction and play in mah jongg, Hand and Foot, “42”, Bunco, Joker, and Bridge; sewing, crafting, and jewelry making programs; flower arranging and woodworking lessons; and other small group social gatherings.

The proceeds of these and all Civic Club events go directly back to the community in grants to area non-profits and scholarships.
