Sport Clips opened in Dripping Springs this past week, celebrating the occasion with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
The ribbon cutting, sponsored by the Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce, took place on Tuesday, June 7. Chamber and community members were invited to visit the new hair salon and watch its stylists in action.
Gordon Logan founded Sport Clips Haircuts in 1993 when he realized the huge potential in the men’s and boys’ haircut market. Soon after the first location opened in Austin, the brand expanded to Houston and Dallas, later franchising in 1995. Within five years, Sport Clips had 50 stores open and by 2007, the company celebrated its 400th and 500th store openings.
Today, Sport Clips is the only national hair care franchise with locations in all 50 states in the U.S., boasting nearly 1,900 locations. The Dripping Springs Sport Clips marks the 17th location for the Austin area.
“Dripping Springs is a growing community, and we are excited to expand to offer our clients expert haircuts at this new location,” said Phillip Ewing, director of operations for the new store.
Located in the Belterra shopping area, Sport Clips offers a variety of haircut services, including the “MVP Experience,” which features a precision haircut, massaging shampoo, hot steamed towel and neck and shoulder treatment. Its stylists are specifically trained to be “pros in men’s hair,” and the casual, sport-themed atmosphere offers a comfortable, welcoming environment for its male-only clients.
Sport Clips in Dripping Springs will provide free “MVP upgrades” to all first-time clients who purchase a haircut service. Hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
