An ongoing investigation into a string of burglaries has concluded in the arrest of 28-year-old Christopher Dale Gainey of Dripping Springs.
These burglaries took place in the central business district of Dripping Springs from Feb. 6 through April 30. Each targeted established businesses that left cash overnight in minimally secured containers on the premises.
“[I] would like to commend the deputies and detectives involved in this apprehension and remind business owners to either remove cash at closing or secure it in a secreted or permanently affixed safe,” Hays County Sheriff Gary Cutler said.
Gainey was charged with burglarizing the following businesses in the Dripping Springs area: Turcotte Butchers & Delicatessen (Feb. 6), Homespun Kitchen & Bar (April 2), The Sated Sheep (April 15), Dantay’s Flowers & Gifts (April 16) and Grand Slam Pizza (April 30).
