Dessert shop officially opens in Drip

Tootie Pie Co. and The Cake Plate celebrated the grand opening of their new bakery store with a ribbon cutting last week, sponsored by the Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce.

Tootie Pie Co. has been baking handcrafted treats since 1985 when Ruby "Tootie" Feagan began selling pies out of her home in Medina, Texas. Over the years, she became famous for selling thousands of her sixpound Huge Apple Pies. Tootie retired several years ago, but her namesake bakery continues her legacy of bringing people together with food.

In 2019, Tootie Pie Co. and The Cake Plate joined businesses and opened their new bakery in Dripping Springs. The Cake Plate, an Austin leader in baking wedding and specialty cakes for over 30 years, now offers their bestsellers at the store, including Mexican Vanilla and Chocolate Pecan Praline.

The new store, located at 3992 E. Hwy 290, offers pies, cakes, cheesecakes, cookies, brownies and scones, as well as savory options like quiches and chicken pot pie, made with Tootie's famous pie crust. Most items are offered whole or by the slice, in dozens of different flavors, all handcrafted with highquality ingredients. “We're excited to be opening this store at our bakery,” said co-owner Scott Calvert. “We've been handcrafting pies and cakes for fans in Austin and San Antonio for years, and we're looking forward to 'baking it a great day' for our new fans in Dripping Springs."

The store offers business gift options and ships to all 50 states via its online shop at tootiepieco.com or by calling (512) 263-9305.
