Early voting concluded this week for this month’s local and state elections. Election day for these races will take place Saturday, May 7.
Two proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution are on the ballot statewide, both relating to property taxes as funding for public schools. Also on the ballot are local elections for municipalities, school districts and other entities. Locally, the Dripping Springs Independent School District has four candidates competing for two Board of Trustees positions.
Joanna Day, vice president of the board, is running for reelection. She is joined by realtor Olivia Barnard, architect and engineer Thaddeus Fortenberry and long-time Hays County resident Tricia Quintero.
Two voting locations are available on election day in Dripping Springs: one at City Hall, 511 West Mercer St., and the other at Patriots’ Hall, 231 Patriots’ Hall Blvd. Both locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
