Two headed to State in track

After competing in the regional track meet at Heroes Stadium in San Antonio, Dripping Springs will be sending two individuals to the State meet held in Austin on May 13. Ava Williamson placed second in the high jump with a leap of 5'6, tying a 20- year old school record. Brant Melton remained undefeated in the 800 to punch his ticket. Only the top two places advance and DS had three others to barely miss out with thirds.

400 relay: 6. 49.84 (Chloe Fredenburg, Kaleigh Howell, Meghan Hancock, Taliyah Spain).

800: 4. Kate Ginther 2.14.02*.

400: 3. Howell 57.48.

300 hurdles: Sophia Farris 43.52.

1600: 4. Bobb 5.05.29; 6. Ginther 5.11.29.

High jump: 2. Williamson 5'6*

Tigers results:

400 relay: 4. 42.74 (Luke Hudson, Chase Whisenant, Gunnar Betts, Garon Duncan).

800: 1. Melton 1.54.59.

110 hurdles: 4. Gage Groce 14.98.

800 relay: 3. 1.28.81 (Boston Papp, Duncan, Whisenant, Betts).
