The Tigers baseball team continues to have problems with getting out of the first inning without giving up runs. Some they come back from and some they don't. The past two games were some of that as DS split the two games with Canyon (2-9) and Boerne Champion (6-5) in eight.
Canyon did not waste any time getting on the board. They took advantage of two errors, two hits and a walk to cross the plate five times. It looked like the Tigers would be prepared to fight back in the second as Brandon Arvidson would hit a one-out single, followed by a double from Parke Cooke and another by Ryland Mahoney to bring in the two runs. Unfortunately that was all they could muster. Meanwhile, the Cougars added three in the fifth and one more in the sixth.
Boerne Champion scored three runs in the first after two outs on three hits and an error. After the Tigers got back two in the second, BC matched it in their half. After that the Tigers would again have to return to scratch and claw to get back in the game. They would score single runs in the fourth and fifth to get to 5-4. In the seventh Cooke stroked a one-out double and it was followed by a Mahoney double to tie the game. Top of the eighth Nico Ruedas led off with a walk and scored after singles by Sam Agajanian and Arvidson for the winner.
