The beginning to the end of track season began with the district track meet on April 2,3. As with the other sports in this district, Dripping Springs fights a strong headwind for success in the form of Lake Travis and Westlake. Track is more for individual success than team with DS having individuals that can negotiate the steps and end up at the state track meet. Next in line is the Area meet consisting of the top four finishers of each event competing against District 25's four finishers. The top four from that meet move on to regional with top two qualifiers going to state.
Another great story is freshman Isabel Crew. She is a wheelchair athlete that has already qualified for the state meet in the 100, 400 and shot put. Even so she will continue to compete at the area and regional meets for the experience.
