With five district games remaining, the Lady Tigers softball team has only to worry about winning the title. Four teams are pretty well assured of making the playoffs. DS and Lake Travis are tied at the top with 6-1 records. Bowie, 4-2 and Del Valle, 4-3 trail.

According to this year's format, the two teams with the highest enrollment will compete in Division I and the other two in II, regardless of standings. In addition, DS got more good news. Jai-Lynn Flores, a stalwart for the past two years as a pitcher, hitter and first baseman is now on the field. She has been unable to play all season and will be a welcome addition.

Dripping Springs rounded the bend with an 8-2 win over Westlake and headed home by taking out Austin Akins in five 10-0.

The Lady Tigers easily controlled the Lady Chaparalls. They held them to two in the fifth while collecting two in the second and fourth and four in the sixth. DS produced eight hits by Kira Preslar 2, Lillian Wearden 2, Tatum Green 2, Elianna Amato and Lauren Byrnes. Sadie Bradford was the complete game winner with 7I, 2R, 2ER, 1W, 8K.

Akins put up little opposition and the Lady Tigers could get only four Abs innings but did manage to get 8 hits. They opened with two, added one in the third and capped it with seven in the fourth. Getting hits were Lorelei Gamble 2(2B,HR), Amato, Taylor Crain, Preslar, Bradford, Green, Flores. Addy Knapp tossed the 5-inning, 5 hitter with no walks and 3 Ks.
