Dripping Springs ISD announced its 2024-25 Campus Teachers of the Year on Monday, March 3 with surprise visits to each school.
Campus winners were selected through a nomination and voting process of all staff at each school. They are now eligible for the DSISD Elementary Teacher of the Year and Secondary Teacher of the Year awards, which will be announced at the April 28 board meeting.
Each winner was posted on the DSISD Facebook page, where former students, community members and fellow teachers took to the comment sections to congratulate the teachers and share special memories.
The Elementary Campus Teachers of the Year are Molly McFee, art teacher at Cypress Springs Elementary; Lisa O’Banan, second grade teacher at Dripping Springs Elementary; Sarah Apple, third grade teacher at Rooster Springs Elementary, Jena Bernhard, special education and pre-K inclusion teacher at Sycamore Springs Elementary; and Stephanie Hendricks, fourth grade teacher at Walnut Springs Elementary.
The Secondary Campus Teachers of the Year are Kathryn Marble, special education - inclusion/resource teacher at Dripping Springs Middle School; Candace Torres, special education ACC teacher at Sycamore Springs Middle School; and Nicholas Overmyer, history teacher at Dripping Springs High School.
