Softball team gets to restart their season

The week of very cold weather caused Dripping Springs to have to cancel their big Brittany Tuck Invitational tourney. They cannot make up the tourney but they will try to schedule a couple later on. They had a busy week starting with a district game with Akins. DS won that game 9-3. The team garnered 10 hits with Lorelei Gamble getting three including a homerun. Tatum Green and Emma Phillips added two. Green and Sadie Bradford shared the mound with Green getting the win.

They took off to Fort Worth to participate in the DFW Turf Wars Tourney. They opened with Hebron and lost 5-4. Phillips got two of the five. Addy Knapp was the losing pitcher.

Keller Central was next with easy results. DS won 16-0 in five innings. The Lady Tigers got 16 hits. Leading the parade were Lauren Byrnes 2, Taylor Crain 2, Bradford 2, Green 3 and Gamble with three homeruns, That set a single game record that bumped 16 previously tied the record with 2. It also tied the total 12 bases. The WP was Bradford.

Southlake Carroll fell 12-5. A six-run sixth was the difference. Gamble had 4 hits and 5 rbis. Lillian Wearden and Phillips had 3. Bradford was the WP.

Abilene fell to the Lady Tigers in five 7-0. Six were scored in the fourth. Green got 2 hits with WP being Knapp.

The final game was with Guyer. Two runs in the eighth was enough to edge the Lady Tigers 4-3. Phillips got two hits and Bradford took the loss.
