Dripping Springs Independent School District Trustee Rob McClelland has been appointed to the Texas School Safety Center (TxSSC) Board of Directors by Governor Greg Abbott.
McClelland will join 16 other members on the board, which meets at least four times annually to oversee the TxSSC’s budget and provide recommendations to state leadership on school safety and security. The board reports directly to the governor, the legislature, the State Board of Education, and the Texas Education Agency.
In addition to his role as a DSISD trustee, McClelland is the board liaison for the district's Safety and Security Committee and serves on the Hays County Sheriff's Office Training Advisory Board. Professionally, he works as Director of Business Development at Bauerle Partners, Inc.
McClelland brings a wealth of experience to the board, including a 12-year tenure as an Army officer, during which he earned the Bronze Star, the Combat Action Badge, and the Presidential Service Badge.
His appointment reflects his ongoing commitment to enhancing school safety in Dripping Springs and across the state.
