Dripping Springs High School alum Enrique Alvarez has been named a United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-American following an impressive sophomore season with the Dallas College Richland Thunderducks men's soccer team.
Alvarez, a midfielder, played a pivotal role in the Thunderducks' success, tallying seven goals and nine assists for a total of 23 points. His standout performances included a goal and at least one assist in five games, as well as scoring in three consecutive postseason matches. Alvarez also recorded two-assist games twice during the season, showcasing his ability to both score and create opportunities for his teammates. His efforts helped propel the Thunderducks to the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III national championship game.
In addition to his United Soccer Coaches All-America honor, Alvarez was recognized as an NJCAA Division III Second Team All-American and was named to the First Team All-Dallas Athletic Conference. His accolades also include being selected for the United Soccer Coaches All-East Region Team.
The United Soccer Coaches organization, founded in 1941 and based in Kansas City, Mo., is the world’s largest soccer coaches’ association. The group’s mission is to inspire and support coaches at all levels of the game, fostering a love for soccer that benefits players and communities alike.
