City lights new tree to begin Christmas holiday

The annual tree lighting took place on Nov. 30 at Veterans Memorial Park hosted by the city of Dripping Springs and the Dripping Springs Lions Club.The brand new tree was unveiled with performances from local groups like the Dripping Springs Hi-Steppers, cheerleaders and local church chores.The tree lighting was followed by a screening of the movie Elf to kick off the holiday season.The annual Christmas on Mercer event will be Saturday in downtown Dripping Springs running from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with live music, crafts, children’s activities and holiday cheer.
