The Dripping Springs High School choir program advanced 10 students to the Texas Music Educators Association Area E auditions on Nov. 16 after placing in the top five of their respective voice parts at the Pre-Area Choir auditions at Anderson High School.
Ava Azua (Soprano 1), Isabella Eleazar (Alto 1) and Emiliano Arroyo Corona (Tenor 1) placed first in their voice part to highlight the competition. With 10 area qualifiers, Dripping Springs comprises 25% of the Region 18 students who are advancing to the area round.
Area E Choir auditions will be held Jan. 11 at Reagan High School in San Antonio. The top five in each voice part will be named to one of the TMEA All-State Choirs, and perform at the TMEA Convention on Feb. 15 in San Antonio.
