On a cool night for football the Dripping Springs Tigers put on a hot performance to put away the Round Rock McNeil Mavericks to the tune of 49-14. The two teams were very close in talent with both having good passing QBs, receivers and runners to go with complimenting offenses and defenses. Anytime teams are close in talent the final edge goes with the team that makes the fewest mistakes. On this given night it was the Tigers who played to near perfection. The Mavericks, if they had a chance, shot themselves in the foot with turnovers and penalties.

The early going in the first quarter was spent exchanging possessions. After a penalty stalled any hope of success, the Mavericks punted. An interception set McNeil up on the DS 37. However Cash Brunson would pounce on a fumble at the 26. The 74 yards were negotiated in nine plays and culminated with a 17 Maddox Maher to Merrik Bloomgren pass for the only score of the quarter. Aidan Burgess toed the first seven EP.

McNeil would answer with a 14 pass early in the second. The Tigers started shutting the door with two TD strikes. A Maher to Nick Tyndall for 24 and Maher to Cooper Reid for 34 brought the half to a close at 21-7.

Jack Tyndall, found his old running magic and scored the first of his three TD's with an 8 run. McNeil, after having a 72 TD recalled, scored their final TD to cut the margin in half. Tyndall crossed the goal line twice more on runs of two and eight. Mateo Perez would score late in the game on a 3 run for the final points.

The offense and defense complimented each other all night. The offensive line started to take control and the Tigers decided to keep the ball on the ground for most of the night, controlling the clock. The passing game was on target all night as well. Despite their problems McNeil never gave up trying to score mostly through the air but the Tiger defense had what it took to stymie all attempts by bending and not breaking. Gavin Badger blocked a sure TD pass at the six in the second. In the fourth, Malachi Igharo intercepted a pass and on the last play of the game Grayson Buaas intercepted a pass in the endzone This win put the Tigers (8-3) in the Area round of play against San Antonio Harlan. (10-1). The game will be played at the NB Canyon Stadium in New Braunfels. Kickoff will be at 7:30pm.
