City launches Hometown Holiday campaign

The City of Dripping Springs has launched its inaugural “Hometown Holidays” campaign, a season- long celebration designed to bring the community together for the holidays.

Kicking off in November and running through the New Year, Hometown Holidays weaves together all the city’s favorite holiday traditions and events under one banner, offering something for everyone.

The campaign aims to celebrate the warmth and togetherness that make Dripping Springs special, especially during the holiday season. By combining festive events, the city hopes to inspire a sense of hometown pride and holiday spirit.

With a lineup of activities, Dripping Springs invites residents and visitors alike to experience the magic of the season through family-friendly entertainment. From the iconic tree lighting and winter markets to ice skating, music, holiday lights, and more, Hometown Holidays promises unforgettable memories for all.

Highlights of Dripping Springs’ Hometown Holidays include: Western Wonderland – Nov. 29-Jan. 5 at Dripping Springs Ranch Park: Now in its second year, this attraction features events and activities, a Trail of Lights, and more. At the center is the largest outdoor ice-skating rink in Central Texas, perfect for skating under twinkling lights. The rink is covered, so weather is never an issue.

Dripping Springs Tree Lighting – Nov. 30 at dusk, Veterans Memorial Park: The tree lighting will take place the Saturday after Thanksgiving to kick off the holiday season. A new tree, lights, and ornaments will be unveiled by the City of Dripping Springs in partnership with the Dripping Springs Lions Club.

Movie in the Park – Nov. 30 at Veterans Memorial Park: After the tree lighting at dusk, attendees can enjoy a showing of Elf.

Stroll the Stars – Dec. 4 at 4 p.m., Mercer Street: The city and the Dripping Springs Art League will unveil six giant star sculptures painted by local artists. Each sculpture reflects themes of the night sky, Dripping Springs, and Hill Country beauty.

Christmas on Mercer – Dec. 7, Downtown Dripping Springs: The 20th anniversary of this beloved event, hosted by the Lions Club, will feature shopping, food vendors, Santa Claus, and more.

Community Events: The city has a Hometown Holidays Calendar of Events where local businesses, organizations, and venues can post holiday happenings. For details, visit destinationdrippingsprings. com/holidays.
