The Kyle Police Department has launched a new Real-Time Crime Center to enhance public safety and expedite criminal investigations. Powered by Fusus, this initiative includes a voluntary camera registry, allowing residents and businesses to register their security cameras to assist in crime-solving.
By registering, camera owners can help reduce the need for door-todoor canvassing currently conducted by patrol officers and detectives. This system enables police to quickly identify potential video evidence and contact owners if footage is needed.
All registrant information remains confidential and is used solely for criminal investigations. “Building a partnership between our residents and police is key to public safety,” said Jeff Barnett, chief of police in Kyle. “We encourage all security camera owners to participate.” Additionally, residents can upgrade their systems to share live video feeds with the police during emergencies, enhancing safety while preserving privacy.
The platform also includes a multimedia tips option for reporting suspicious activity. To register your camera or upload video, visit connectkyle.org. The Kyle Police Department is located in the Public Safety Center at 1700 Kohlers Crossing. For more information, please visit cityofkyle. com/police.
