It was not Friday 13th, Halloween or a séance, but there were a lot of weird things going on during the night that made the game an interesting adventure. For almost the entire half, it was a real battle, then the Cardinals decided to implode in the final minute to blow the game wide open. The second half was a battle of the flags as officials found violation after violation.

Dripping Springs set the stage early on as Kyle Daniel intercepted a pass and returned it 14 yards to the 33. Maddox Maher would complete the drive with a 19-yard pass to Nick Tyndall. Aidan Burgess made the first of his seven EP's. That made it 7-0 after one.

The second quarter was something else. Del Valle kicked a 28yard FG. 7-3. DS responded with a Maher to Merrik Bloomgren pass for 35 TD. 14-3. DV came back with a 42-yard pass to keep the pressure on the Tigers 14-10. 3.47. An 8-play, 48-yard drive was ended by a Jack Tyndall 2 yard run walk-in. 21-10 with 1.19 remaining. That should have been it but on the first play John Lamoglia picked off a pass and returned it 34 for the score 28-10. 1.01. DV must have thought the first was a fluke and tried another pass. Malachi Igharo picked it off at the 31. A Maher to Bloomgren pass on the final play from the four gave the Tigers a quick 35-10 advantage.

Most of the third quarter was spent overcoming flags which slowed the game like incomplete passes. Both teams had one drive each and the Tigers second drive finally got in the endzone with a 10-yard pass to Cooper Reid. 42-10. 48.3. Jaceton Gotta had a 40-yard TD run called back but later came back with a 14yard run for the final Tiger points. With a little over one minute remaining Del Valle would get their final points on a 9-yard run.

This week is Bye week for the Tigers. They will take a breather before serving as host to the district undefeated Westlake Chaparrals. The playoffs are the following week and the opponent will be either Vandegrift or Vista Ridge depending on the outcome of the Austin High-Bowie game.
