The Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) is now accepting applications for its 2025 Research Fellowship in Texas History. The fellowship includes a $2,000 stipend and is awarded to the best research proposal utilizing the collections of the State Archives in Austin or the Sam Houston Regional Library and Research Center in Liberty, Texas.
Applications must include the purpose of the proposed research, relevant collections, how the research will contribute to a greater understanding of Texas history, dissemination plans, and a curriculum vitae. The fellowship recipient will be asked to present their findings at a TSLAC event. Judges may withhold the award at their discretion.
Applications are due by Jan. 15 and can be submitted at www.tsl. texas.gov/arc/researchfellowship.
The TSLAC provides Texans with access to the information needed to be informed and productive citizens by preserving the state’s archival record, enhancing the capacity of public, academic, and school libraries, assisting public agencies in maintaining their records, and meeting the reading needs of Texans with disabilities.
