Hays County to host open house Oct 9 on Fitzhugh Road safety study

Hays County will host an open house to present preliminary safety improvements along Fitzhugh Road, from Ranch Road 12 to the Hays County line on Wednesday October 9 from 6-8 p.m. at the Ranch Park Event Center, located at 1042 Event Center Drive in Dripping Springs.

A safety study for the project in April 2024 identified potential mobility and safety enhancements, including new signage, pavement markings, and intersection upgrades.

Materials presented at the open house will be available online starting Wednesday, Oct. 9, with public comments accepted through Friday, Oct. 25.

Coordination with local community members, stakeholders, Travis County, and the Texas Department of Transportation is a key part of the analysis, with feedback being gathered throughout the study.

The study is funded by the 2016 Hays County Bond Program. Additional funding for the design and construction of the proposed safety improvements is included in the 2024 Hays County Road Bond Program.
