Hays LWV urges voters to use VOTE411 before Nov 5 election

Ahead of the general election on November 5, the League of Women Voters of Hays County reminds voters of its 2024 election resource VOTE411.org. This “one-stop shop” for election information provides Hays County voters with simple, accessible tools to help them navigate the voting process. VOTE411 provides personalized candidate information, voter registration details, polling place locations, and other helpful election information for all voters nationwide.

Through its VOTE411 resource, the LWV offers voters in Hays County simple, accessible tools to help citizens navigate the voting process before Election Day.

With resources available in both English and Spanish, VOTE411 helps millions of voters each year---many of them young people and first-time voters—learn about candidate stances, look up what’s on their ballot, find their polling place and more.

“The League of Women Voters of Hays County is pleased to provide this important, nonpartisan resource to Hays County voters,” said Linda Calvert, President of LWV Hays County. “We encourage voters to visit VOTE411.org to make a voting plan so they are prepared to cast their vote confidently on November 5th!” To use the tool, visit vote411. org.

The League of Women Voters of Hays County to Host Candidate Forums In October the League of Women Voters (LWV) of Hays County will hold three virtual candidate forums.

The format for these forums in a Zoom webinars with the candidates and can be viewed live and as recordings afterwards on the Hays County LWV website.

The forums scheduled are October 8, 2024 7 p.m.

Woodcreek City Council

October 10, 2024 7 p.m.

County Constable Pct. 2 County Court-at-Law #3

October 17, 2024 7 p.m.

San Marcos City Mayor San Marcos City Council The Hays County LWV had hoped to host forums for Texas Senate District 25, Texas House Representative District 45, Judge Judicial District 483, Hays County District Clerk, Sheriff and County Commissioner Pct.3; but candidates did not accept an invitation to participate.

Recordings of the live forums will be posted 48 hours after the live forums.

October 7 is deadline to register to vote in Texas Hays county residents have until October 7 to register to vote in the November general election. The LWV will have volunteers at the Dripping Springs Community Library with last minute registration on October 5 from 10:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and again on October 7 from 10 a.m 5 p.m. The Dripping Springs Community Library is located at 501 Sportsplex Dr in Dripping Springs.

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
