Texas MedClinic opens new urgent care office in Dripping Springs

Texas MedClinic Urgent Care opened a new clinic in Dripping Springs on September 24 with a ribboncutting ceremony the day before attended by ambassadors from the Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce and local businesses.

Located at 164 Belterra Village Way, Unit #A2 in Austin, the clinic is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The Dripping Springs clinic is overseen by Dr. Nathan Rylander, M.D. Rylander serves as the clinic’s medical director and is also the Austin area medical director for Texas MedClinic.

The clinic in Dripping Springs is part of an expansion by the company in the Austin metro area. The new location in Dripping Springs is the sixth Texas MedClinic in the Austin area. Texas MedClinic began in 1982 in San Antonio and was founded by Dr. Bernard T. Swift.

“We have a physician here most of the time, especially Monday through Friday. There are six on staff to begin with which include nurses, a nurse practitioner and physician assistant,” Rylander said.

Texas MedClinic is an urgent care medical clinic. Its services include treatment for things ranging from sinus infections, ear-aches, sprains and strains, to fractures, lacerations, burns and wound management.

Like all Texas Med-Clinics, the new clinic is also equipped with advanced diagnostic tools including X-ray, EKG and rapid PCR tests.

“The combined forces of a growing population, inundated emergency rooms and a shortage of primary care providers in the U.S. mean that even in metropolitan areas it can be difficult to access timely medical care,” said Jim Ashby, CEO of Texas Med-Clinic. “Our clinics provide the medical attention people need, when they need it — filling the gap between emergency care for life-threatening issues and routine care that can wait for a primary care appointment.”

Dr Rylander is an Austinite and lives in Austin with his family. He said he is an automobile enthusiast and enjoys Formula 1, especially when it comes to Austin. He said he is very excited about experiencing the live music scene in Dripping Springs and meeting people in the community.

Texas MedClinic sees patients on a walk-in basis. People can learn more about their services, see accepted insurance plans and find the nearest location at TexasMed-Clinic.com.
