'Art in the Triangle' Market to launch in downtown Dripping Springs

The Dripping Springs Art League (DSAL) and the city’s Parks and Community Services Department (PCS) are teaming up to host three downtown Art Markets this fall at Veterans Memorial Park, also known as “The Triangle.”

The first ‘Art in the Triangle’ market will take place on Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Additional markets are scheduled for Nov. 9 and Dec. 14.

“We’ll have artists ranging from relatively new to those with gallery presence, bringing a wide array of art, including painting, metalwork, jewelry, fiber, sculpture, glasswork, ceramics, and more,” said Steve Friedman, president of the DSAL.

The markets will feature local artists, food vendors, and musicians.

“It’s a great opportunity to collaborate with the city in bringing more art to the community,” Friedman said. “We love to provide local artists a chance to share their talents with a broader audience. We’ll also have an information booth where people can learn more about our classes, workshops, and clubs.”

The market is open to all artists who want to participate, with discounted fees for DSAL members. Food and beverages will also be available from vendors with the Dripping Springs Farmers Market.

“A lot of our makers are artists in their own right, with the difference being that we eat and drink their creations instead of hanging them on a wall,” said Reed, manager of the Farmers Market.

To enhance the experience for shoppers and browsers, the market will feature local musicians. Local artist Alex Dormont is scheduled to perform at the inaugural market on Oct. 5.

Founded in 2023 by co-founders Steve and Jennifer Friedman, Alison Cairns, and Amy Nelipovich, the Dripping Springs Art League has grown through community support and volunteer efforts. In addition to the markets, the league hosts workshops, classes, and pop-up markets at local venues.
