Ambassadors from the Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce joined Dr. David Z. Gay and his family for a ribboncutting ceremony on Sept. 5 to celebrate the opening of Texas Eye Aesthetics in precision work.
His practice also offers non-surgical procedures to improve the appearance and health of skin around the eyes and face, including dermal fillers and laser treatments.
Dr. Gay earned his medical degree from the Medical College
Dripping Springs.
Dr. Gay, a boardcertified ophthalmologist and oculofacial plastic surgeon, specializes in eyelid, orbit, tear duct system, and facial cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. With over 10,000 surgeries performed, he combines a passion for patient care with his love of of Virginia and completed a residency and fellowship in ophthalmology and reconstructive surgery. He is also involved in humanitarian work, having participated in medical missions abroad.
“I fell in love with oculofacial plastic surgery. It combined my love of fixing things with being able to help people,” Gay said.
Dr. Gay has traveled to Haiti on two volunteer surgical missions to perform surgeries on patients at the Brenda Strafford Institute and has plans to travel to Guyana in 2025.
He and his wife, Ashley, live in Austin with their two sons. In his spare time, Dr. Gay enjoys baking, repairing cars, and outdoor activities like mountain biking and snowboarding.
