Staff Reports range of opportunities within 4-H, with a focus on this year’s theme, 'Grow with 4-H.'
The four H's in 4-H stand for Head, Heart, Hands, and Health. As one of the largest youth development organizations in the U.S., 4-H provides hands-on learning experiences to empower young people for a lifetime. The organization focuses on leadership, citizenship, and life skills for children ages 8-18, offering local clubs, camps, and after-school programs.
The event will feature a Project Fair from 6 to 7 p.m., where families can explore different 4-H project areas and meet current members and leaders. A 4-H Orientation will follow from 7 to 7:45 p.m., during which 4-H staff will present resources, important dates, contest opportunities, and validation information. Club managers and officers will also be introduced.
Traditionally known for agricultural projects, 4-H today also emphasizes science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), as well as healthy living and community engagement. Members can explore a variety of interests, from raising livestock to building robots, cooking, photography, and public speaking.
The Dripping Springs 4-H Club meets on the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m., from September through May, at Dripping Springs Ranch Park Event Center, located at 1042 Event Center Drive.
