With cooler temperatures around the corner, the art community in Wimberley invites you to the first Art Crawl on Thursday, September 5 from 5 9 p.m. The Art Crawl is a chance to visit Wimberley's art galleries, which will stay open late for the event. The Art Crawl will return to Wimberley the first Thursday of each month.
The Art Crawl connects art lovers and enthusiasts and participating galleries for an evening of art events, food and entertainment. The event is the latest program initiative from Wimberley-Arts.org, attracting art lovers from near and far to enjoy Wimberley’s diverse gallery scene every month.
Participating galleries include: Wildflower Art Gallery, Art on 12, Pitzer’s Fine Art Gallery, Rodney Bursiel Gallery, 220 Fine Art Gallery, Hill Country Collectables, Wimberley Valley Art League Gallery, projectArt ARTSPACE, and Silo Gallery and the Glass Studio.
Casa Turquesa, My Happy Place, Shelter, Ceremony and Mission Day Spa will also keep late hours in support of the Art Crawl.
According to Art Crawl committee chair Nancy Elliott, “After months of planning we’re so excited to be launching Art Crawl in September! Visitors can expect different attractions at each gallery or business, including guest artists, special displays, demonstrations, and refreshments.”
The turtle flag will be displayed at all galleries and businesses and there will be some directional signs around town as well as transport to help folks get around.
Art Crawl maps and Passport Cards will be available at each venue and each venue will have its own distinctive stamp and stamp the cards to show you were there. Once you get five stamps you can enter the monthly drawing to win some terrific prizes by leaving your card at any of the participating locations.
After the kick off on September 5th, the Art Crawl will return each first Thursday of the month; featuring a different theme. Future Art Crawl dates are October 3 (Plein Aire Everywhere), November 7 (Literary Night); and December 5 (Signature Cocktails and Live Music).
